Mario Badescu skincare routine

To be honest here, I haven’t had a proper skincare regime for ages. For these last couple of years, I’ve been switching products countlessly, trying new facial cleansers and moisturisers in search of my holy grails. It’s like… I don’t know, my skin condition has changed considerably ever since I moved to Melbourne. It could be due to the weather, or maybe the water (?) like someone once told me, but I used to have really oily skin and never really needed moisturiser (like if I skipped moisturiser a couple of nights, my skin would still be fine). But now, my skin’s relatively dry.. Even if I religiously moisturise every night, I could still be having dry flaky patches on my nose, around my mouth and on my cheeks, while the T-zone is still oily (although definitely less oily than it used to be). And so, bottomline, what used to work for me no longer does. So I’ve been trying to find something that works for me (and obviously still haven’t succeeded). And I’m also starting to be more concerned about the ingredients on my skincare products, which is why I chose to try out Mario Badescu products. The products that I chose contain less ingredients than other skincare products (and doesn’t contain a lot of unpronounceable ingredients, or ingredients that are known to dry out or irritate the skin, or block the pores — yes I actually really did my homework this time).
So yeah, yesterday, I went down to Kit Cosmetics down at the Bourke St Myer and got those 3 products you see above:
- Enzyme Cleansing Gel
- Seaweed Cleansing Lotion (Toner)
- Honey Moisturizer
I’ve heard maybe good reviews about these products and I’m really hoping that it will work for me (so I can finally stop trying out products *fingers crossed*). I’ve also heard that their Silver Powder really really helps in eliminating blackheads and diminishing pores, so maybe I’ll try that one out too next time. I should probably start wearing a daytime moisturiser with SPF too……
Chicken and spinach risotto. Such a pain in the ass. Took like almost an hour to cook. But doesn’t taste so bad for a first-timer! Although it’s too salty (I think it’s the broth, should have diluted it with water next time, if there is a next time). I highly doubt I would want to cook this ever again.
My Sigma brush is here!! Bought the angled brush (F40) with the intention of using it as a blush brush. Looks exactly like the MAC one. BUT!!! It smells horrible :( :( Smells like… dead animal. And I’m not even kidding you. I’m not sure if the MAC one smells too, but I don’t remember smelling anything from my 187. But then again, 187 is a duo-fibre brush and it’s not made up of natural hair entirely, so I don’t know..
Le sigh.
Let’s see if I can conceal a bit of the smell with my perfume.

K I’m done with my lecture but it’s raining outside and I don’t have my umbrella with me so I can’t go home. Ugh and it doesn’t look like the rain is gonna end soon.
Tonight’s dinner! Hehehe and I’ve got my cheesecake setting in the fridge for dessert/ supper/snack-while-researching-for-OB later teehee
I declare my first attempt at making carbonara a success!! ^^ And I realised it’s actually pretty simple to make! The sauce was just cream and egg whisked together (I put away about half of the white, to be used as mask later). So I sautéed the garlic, chilli (optional) and sausages until the sausages are cooked, turned the heat down to minimum, poured in the cream and egg mixture, seasoned it with black pepper, Knorr chicken essence, salt and a dash of oregano leaves, then mix it with the pasta and voila!
